Facilities Shelter Coordinator Summary/Objective:
La Posada Providencia is an emergency shelter for immigrants in crisis who are seeking legal refuge in the United States of America.
The Facilities Shelter Coordinator is responsible for the cleanliness, health, and sanitation of La Posada Providencia and supervises the Shelter Aids and Maintenance Grounds Keeper.
The Facilities Shelter Coordinator will also assist with other operations within the shelter buildings, including stocking of essential supplies and preparing and serving meals to shelter residents and working closely with Case Management for the availability of beds.
Essential Functions:
1.
Cleans shelter facilities to maintain health and sanitation standards.
This includes assisting with laundry and emptying recycling bins and trashcans.
2.
Submits Purchase order requests for and maintains an inventory of all menu items.
3.
Plans menu and prepares meals, supervises meal service, and cleans up after meals.
4.
Cleans and prepares clients bedrooms.
5.
Identifies minor maintenance issues and communicates them to the Maintenance/Grounds Keeper and Executive Director.
6.
Submits Purchase order requests for and maintains an inventory of all materials and supplies needed to complete essential facilities and Property maintenance tasks.
7.
Maintains a constant awareness of available housing and communicates interdepartmentally.
8.
Keep an accurate and detailed log of client and volunteer tasks performed in the kitchen, laundry, or storage areas.
9.
Follow La Posada Providencia program policies and procedures.
10.
Performs other duties as requested.
Requirements:

Post offer, pre-employment screening requires successful completion of criminal background check, and motor vehicle record report.

Experience:
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
18 years of age or older; and Possess or have the ability to obtain a Food Handler Certification (basic course) within 30 days of employment.
